Connovo, Inc. (“Connovo,” “we,” “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered K-12 hiring platform.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, role (educator or administrator).
- Educator profile: Resume/CV, education history, work experience, teaching certifications, subjects, grade levels, and professional references.
- Interview responses: Text transcripts of AI screening interviews, including all messages exchanged during the interview.
- Voluntary demographic data: Race/ethnicity, gender, veteran status, and disability status collected solely for EEO compliance monitoring. This data is never used in evaluation scoring or hiring decisions.
- Accommodation requests: Language preferences and any interview accommodations requested.
2.2 Information Generated by AI
- Evaluation scores: Dimension-level scores (1-5), overall fit scores, and confidence ratings generated by our AI analysis pipeline.
- Narrative analysis: AI-generated summaries, strengths, concerns, follow-up questions, and risk flags.
- Fit score components: Rubric alignment, district alignment, and readiness scores.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Browser type and version, device information, IP address.
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and interaction patterns.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the Service: Processing applications, conducting AI interviews, generating evaluations, and facilitating the hiring workflow.
- EEO Compliance: Monitoring hiring outcomes for adverse impact using the four-fifths rule. Demographic data is analyzed only in aggregate and is never linked to individual evaluation scores.
- Communication: Sending application status updates, interview invitations, and hiring decision notifications.
- Improvement: Analyzing anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models, rubrics, and platform features.
- Security: Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
4. How We Share Your Information
- School districts: Your application materials, interview transcripts, and AI evaluations are shared with authorized personnel at the school district(s) you applied to.
- AI processing: Interview transcripts are sent to Google Gemini for analysis. Google processes this data under our data processing agreement and does not use it for model training.
- Service providers: We use Supabase (database/auth), Resend (email), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each processes data under contractual obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government request.
- We do NOT sell your personal information.
5. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- After account deletion: Personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
- Interview transcripts: Retained for 2 years after the associated hiring cycle closes, or until account deletion, whichever comes first.
- EEO compliance data: Retained as required by federal and state record-keeping requirements (typically 1-3 years).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing.
- Request a human review of any automated decision that significantly affects you.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

7. Cookies & Tracking
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how the platform is used (PostHog). Can be opted out.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest, row-level security policies, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. All AI evaluation data is access-controlled so that only authorized district personnel can view candidate evaluations.
9. Children's Privacy
Connovo is designed for use by adult educators and school district administrators. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
